Is BloodHound a Fully Automated Trading Robot?

Answer

BloodHound is a logic engine which is a key component of an automated trading robot. It can be incorporated into a custom strategy to drive trade entries and other aspects of your strategy that may require configurable logic. Additionally, BloodHound comes with a NinjaTrader strategy called SiRaven which allows you to auto-trade your BloodHound signals using a basic stop (or trailing stop) and profit target.

To fully auto-trade your BloodHound template you can choose between 2 options:

  1. Run SiRaven with your BloodHound template.
  2. Implement your own trade management code using SiBloodHoundStrategy.

SiBloodHoundStrategy is designed to be inherited and extended. Examples and documentation on how to do this is available here:

    Hi Mohi

1- Yes.  Raven is the complementary strategy that comes with BH.

2a- I stated it "is at least 6 months away." and my guess-timate is at least another 6 months away.  It's really difficult  to estimate the timing on Falcon, because the interface needs to be updated to match BH, and thorough testing needs to be done.  We are eager to release Falcon as soon as possible, but quality must come first.

2b- It is to soon to speculate on the price.  Sorry about that.  Although, most likely current owners of BH will be given a discount when Falcon is released.

    Thanks.

    Hi Zac,

People who have already purchased BloodHound, will they get Falcon for free or is it a separate product?

    Thanks & Regards,

    Mohi

    Hi Mohi,

Falcon will be a stand-alone trade management system that will be a replacement for NinjaTrader's Chart Trader, with BloodHound functionality built-in to control stops & targets.  And as stated above, Falcon will integrate with BloodHound.  Because Falcon will be a stand-alone product replacement for Chart Trader, it will not be included with BloodHound.

That was a good question.  Thanks for having us clarify that.

    Hi Zac,

You have mentioned that "Falcon will be a stand-alone product replacement for Chart Trader, it will not be included with BloodHound".

1- So does this mean that BloodHound owners would have to pay for Falcon product separately?

2-  On June 28, you mentioned 6 months for Falcon release. If the above point 1 is true, then what is the estimated date for the Falcon product release and what would be the estimated costs?

    Thanks & Regards,
    Mohi

Hi Zac, It has been 7 months since your last update on Falcon. Can you update any more info on Falcon and it's estimated release date. Thanks!

Hi Peter.  We have had a very high request for various features that BloodHound 2.0 will address.  BH 2.0 requires a radical rewrite of the source code, which will make it a more robust product.  This puts "Falcon" in a holding pattern until BH 2.0 is done.  Otherwise, "Falcon" would have to written twice, because if it was written now using the BH's current code it would have to be written again to work with BH 2.0.  This is one of the reasons why ETA's are not given.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

    HI Gunther,

Yes.  It looks like we are still on track to release the Beta version in January to a small group of beta tester.  Then we will release the beta to the general public for testing.  We are working  hard to get it done.

    Good trading.

Hi Zac, Will Falcon be able to handle variable (non-fixed) position sizes in strategies? I would like to be able to add or reduce to a position based quantifiable factors. Also, will it be Ninja8 ready? Thanks, Peter

Falcon, the next featured trading solution from SharkIndicators will be the final component necessary to build a fully automated trading system.  Falcon can be used as a stand-alone trade management system, or coupled with BloodHound.  A release date has not been determined, and is at least 6 months away.

    Hi Peter,

The first release will be for NinjaTrader 7.  NT 8 will be in beta for a while, and they may make code breaking changes.  We can't mention specifics until it is released, but I can say it can leg-out using multiple OCO/bracket orders, and each OCO can use a different stoploss method.  Legging-in will be added in a later version.

Is there a closer ETA for Falcon yet? I know this discussion here was from over a year ago. Just curious. Thanks!

Hi Gregg,  There is nothing I can say yet.  Prior to working on Falcon we had to build our own Order Management system to replace NT's, thus making Raven far more robust and preventing unknown trade states.  That project pushed Falcon back quite a bit.
